To read more about his journey with his own words:
I'm Noor Sadaque, a 23-year-old currently working at the International Organization For Migration (IOM) as a Site Management Rohingya Team Leader for almost five years. In addition to my professional role, I actively engage in various social activities within the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. I proudly serve as an advisor to the Rohingya Student Network (RSN).
As a participant in the Rohingya Capacity Building Pilot (RCBP) project, I underwent an extensive six-month training program facilitated by Rohingya Support Network (RSN). The curriculum covered a diverse range of crucial topics, including Professional Writing, Research Methodologies, Organizational Behavior, Civic Education, Photo Journalism, Women's Rights, Gender-Based Violence, History of Rohingya and Myanmar, International Justice Process for Rohingya, Effective Advocacy Training, Documenting Human Rights Violations, Leadership Skills, and Project Management. Each topic provided valuable understanding and cultivated a practical approach, equipping me with a comprehensive grasp of issues relevant to the Rohingya community. The training not only enriched my knowledge but also nurtured a practical mindset that I am confident in applying in the field. I am eager to utilize this newfound expertise to empower fellow Rohingya youths through informative sessions and contribute positively to the community.
Throughout the RCBP experience, I acquired a multifaceted set of skills and knowledge that significantly impacted my professional growth. The professional writing training equipped me with the ability to craft applications efficiently and with a high level of professionalism. The data collection methods and data analysis skills gained during the program provided me with a solid foundation for conducting thorough research. The research methodology training not only honed my ability to search for research papers but also instilled a deep understanding of research processes, emphasizing the importance of validity and reliability. Leadership training offered insights into effective communication and leveraging personal strengths when approaching people. The photojournalism module enhanced my photography skills, covering everything from taking impactful photos to editing techniques and understanding body language. Overall, RCBP not only broadened my knowledge but also catalyzed a comprehensive transformation in my approach to projects and interactions.
My dream revolves around a deep-seated desire for knowledge and skills in leadership, research, journalism, photography, and human rights. Throughout the six months of the RCBP project with the Rohingya Student Network (RSN), I have passionately delved into these subjects.
My dream now encompasses using this acquired expertise to shed light on the plight of Rohingya refugees, capturing their daily lives through proper photography and documentary work. I aspire to be an advocate for human rights, leveraging the insights gained from RCBP to conduct impactful sessions and training in the field. My ultimate goal is to empower and uplift Rohingya youths, sharing the knowledge and skills acquired during this transformative learning journey under the umbrella of RSN's RCBP project. Next week and next Month, I am eager to kickstart the process of transforming my dreams into reality by initiating training sessions for Rohingya youths. Armed with the knowledge from RCBP, I plan to meticulously guide them in areas of leadership, research methodologies, journalistic practices, photography techniques, and the nuances of documenting human stories, especially those of Rohingya refugees. Through these sessions, I aim to instill not just theoretical understanding but practical skills that can empower the younger generation. My vision extends beyond imparting knowledge; I aspire to foster a sense of resilience, critical thinking, and empathy among the youth. By investing in their development, I am optimistic that we can collectively contribute to positive change within the Rohingya community, bridging gaps and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
